TODAY’S BLESSING

Psalms 121:7-8 NIV
“The LORD will keep you from all harm— He will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

There is a sense in which it is completely true that the LORD keeps us from all harm. It all depends on the sense of the word “keep.” This word in Hebrew also means “guard, watch, preserve.”
This scripture passage is to be understood as applying to the present and future (“both now and forevermore”). Therefore, we rightly understand that at every moment, GOD is watching over us. GOD is with us, caring for us, even in times of hardship and suffering. In a sense, GOD is keeping us, even though we are experiencing difficulties. Furthermore, the LORD will ultimately take away from us all suffering and sorrow. As Psalm 71:20 affirms, “Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life.”
This restoration happens, however partially, in this life, and fully in the Kingdom age to come.

Now, this is good news, isn’t it?
When we’re told that GOD keeps us from all harm, we have good reason to celebrate, thank, and praise the LORD for all the ways He does protect us, Therefore, we rejoice in the fact that, no matter how difficult life’s circumstances might be now, today....through faith in His Son JESUS CHRIST, and by GOD’s SPIRIT present in us, He will KEEP us from all harm and will WATCH over us even our coming and going both now and forevermore. Because of His goodness and grace we can overcome present challenges, big and small, and we are secure in GOD’s strong and mighty hands.

Praying For You,
